DRAMA

Drama class is taught by Mr. Demasi and Ms. Ballester, academic teachers at PS/IS 384.  With a background of participation in many high school theatre productions , these teachers hold one goal for this class: This class aims to give students the opportunity to express themselves in a group and perform with confidence in front of their peers.

This class gives the participants an opportunity to pursue various paths of performance before an audience, some of which are monologues, poetry, and self- created lyrics to songs.

Each week the students select the type of performance they would like to present.  They use the following days to prepare and are ready to perform on Friday afternoon.

The class is student driven and enables them to participate in various means of self-expression such as: ice-breakers, vocal exercises, improv, stage direction, script analysis, and phrasing and tone
